In the West African country of Gambia there are also many deprived children as a result of poverty and drought. Over 1.500 people were in desperate need of a good water supply. Jomanda's World Children supports a project run by a Dutch family to construct a water pump. The foundation has donated € 17,000.00 for this. Paul van Loon, Jomanda's partner who died on July 3rd, 2004 in a motorbike accident, wanted to devote himself specially to Gambia. The water tower was named Paul as a surprise.
