Butterfly land
During one of Jomanda's healings in Bracebridge in 2000 she met a woman who looked after children without a future, either because they were terminally ill, or because they had been so severely abused that they had become handicapped. In short, children who had been deserted in every way, even by their parents, who were addicted to alcohol or drugs. Jomanda promised to send her cuddly toys from the Netherlands.

Jomanda got in touch because she was in the neighbourhood and asked of she could come and visit the children. During this visit Jomanda saw with her own eyes how this woman and her partner care for children in their 10-bedroom house in a way that even surpasses loving parental care. One child, with just a small section of brain, who until a year ago had been in a vegatative state, can now walk and make himself understood with sounds and gestures. Butterfly Land is currently reputed to be the best children's home in Ontario, and that is something to be proud of. Unfortunately there isn't enough room and there are too few good carers to meet the demand. Jomanda's World Children has given donations so that this project can continue.
